Decliners in Continental Europe were led by Sequans Communications (SQNS), a French developer of chipset solutions, 4.8% lower, followed by Oasmia Pharmaceutical (OASM), a Sweden-based pharmaceutical company, down by 3.8% and argenx (ARGX), a Netherlands-based biopharmaceutical company, 2.3% lower. voxelJet (VJET), a German three-dimensional printer manufacturer, was down by 1.9%.
In the UK, Luxfer (LXFR), a materials technology company, was 2.9% lower, AstraZeneca (AZN), a biopharmaceutical company, was down by 1.2%, Pearson (PSO), an international education company edged 1.1% lower and Lloyds Banking Group (LYG) was down by 1.1%. Gainers in Continental Europe were led by Edap (EDAP), a French medical devices developer, up by 3%, followed by Telecom Italia (TI), an Italian company engaged in the communications sector, 1.6% higher and Telecom Italia – Savings (TI.A), up by 1.4%. Telefonica (TEF) was up by 0.8%.
